AMLD 6

AMLD 6 (6th Anti-Money Laundering Directive) represents the next step in European regulations against money laundering, terrorist financing, the proceeds of organized crime and modern slavery. As an international company, Trilogy Media Group (& subsidiaries) is committed to (and is a legal requirement) to adhere to these regulations (AMLR).

These include: -

  • Standard KYC checks (Know your client) for all new and current clients with periodic checks.

  • Enhanced KYC where an entity, company or person resides within an offshore tax haven or where trusts or nominee directors are used. This also applies to where directors or trusts shareholders are not the ultimate beneficial owners (UBO’s).

  • Full KYC where the entity, person or shareholder retains a shareholding (>20%) from a country under current UN sanctions or is a politically exposed person (PEP) or considered an enhanced or high risk due to number of factors including country of domicile.

New or existing clients will be requested to provide information of the ownership structure of the company or entity including shareholders and UBO’s. This will include notarized copies of passports, share & director registers and other information of the ownership structure of the company or entity.

We are legally required to ensure that all transactions remain free and clear from risks associated with AML. There remains no sidestep or means to bypass this process and any attempt to do so, will automatically raise the level of checks to “Enhanced-Level” which will require arduous notarized paperwork and /or law firm verified documentation.

Our AML checks are also in adherence with countries which have Modern Slavery or Human Trafficking legislation. We will report any information which we have to the appropriate authorities where we suspect any abuses of the above.

We appreciate, that these regulations may seem overbearing, but such are a necessary part of our national security for the welfare of our Country and citizens.
